Ingress
An ingress is the moment a planet moves out of one zodiac sign and into the next.
What it is
Each planet travels through the twelve signs of the zodiac at its own pace. The Moon changes sign every two and a half days, the Sun every month, Jupiter about once a year and Saturn every two and a half years. The day a planet crosses into a new sign is its ingress.
How the tradition reads it
A sign change shifts the tone of a planet, because each sign colours the planets passing through it, and some signs strengthen a planet while others weaken it. Slow planets changing sign are read as the start of a longer chapter for the sectors they rule.
In AstroFinex
The sky calendar lists the ingresses of the Sun and the slower planets. Dates are computed in the sidereal zodiac, so they differ from the dates in most Western horoscopes by about 24 days.
