Ashtakavarga
Ashtakavarga is a Vedic point system that scores how supportive each sign is for each planet's transits.
What it is
Ashtakavarga ('eight sources') gives each sign of a chart a score from the positions of seven planets and the ascendant. A transit through a high-scoring sign is read as easier, through a low-scoring sign as harder.
In AstroFinex
The engine computes ashtakavarga for instrument charts and uses it as one of its strength inputs. It was also tested as a stand-alone direction measure and rejected, because it did not hold up across instruments.
